Mimos Craniometer
65,00 €
Device for healthcare professionals.
Medical device for taking head measurements in infants up to two years of age. These measurements are used to diagnose and monitor positional head deformities such as plagiocephaly.
Includes: user manual with measurement protocol and a pack of 10 elastic reference measurement bands.
The new V2.0 reference bands have been substantially improved. These bands are latex-free, provide more accurate measurements, and are soft. Additionally, they feature a certified silicone lining on the inside that prevents the band from slipping off the baby’s head.
Important: For hygiene reasons, it is recommended to use one band per patient. The family can take the band home with the medical record and bring it to future visits. Each band has an estimated lifespan of 25 measurements to ensure measurement quality.
!!! Discounts are available for packs of 5 (HERE) and 10 (HERE).

Mimos® Craniometer: Cranial Deformity Measuring Device
Discover the Mimos® Craniometer, a medical device designed to perform cranial measurements in babies up to 2 years old. It allows proper diagnosis and monitoring of positional cranial deformities such as plagiocephaly.
The craniometer for plagiocephaly, also known as a cephalometer, is a reference tool for healthcare professionals and also a very useful option for families who want to objectively track treatment progress at home.
It includes a user manual with a measurement protocol and a pack of 10 elastic bands designed to improve measurement accuracy and reproducibility. Try it now and protect your baby!
What is the Mimos® Craniometer used for?
The Mimos® Craniometer allows objective quantification of diameters and asymmetries in the baby’s skull, helping to detect the main cranial deformities:
- Plagiocephaly: cranial asymmetry (flattening on one side)
- Brachycephaly: symmetrical flattening of the back of the head
- Scaphocephaly (dolichocephaly): elongated and narrow head shape
Its main function is to monitor the evolution of these conditions by comparing measurements over time and objectively verifying improvement.
Technical Features and Medical Certification of the Craniometer
- Medical device for cranial measurement in babies up to 2 years old
- Weight and dimensions: 0.235 kg | 27.5 × 17.5 × 2.5 cm
- Flexible but non-elastic design to reduce errors caused by variable tension
- Soft and safe material in contact with the baby’s skin
- Improved V2.0 bands: latex-free, more precise and softer, with certified silicone inner finish to prevent slipping during measurement
How to Measure Plagiocephaly with the Craniometer
The Mimos® Craniometer includes a user manual with a measurement protocol.
In practice, the process is based on repeating the same method to reliably compare results:
- Place the reference band on the baby’s head following the manual (stable and centred position)
- Take the measurement using the craniometer according to the indicated reference points
- Record the values and repeat the same process under similar conditions (same posture, same band, same placement criteria)
- Compare progress over weeks and paediatric visits: the trend is what matters, not a single value
Useful tip for families: measure your baby’s head at home calmly when your baby is relaxed.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Mimos® Craniometer
Can parents use it at home to measure plagiocephaly?
Yes. It is a tool designed for healthcare professionals (paediatric physiotherapy, paediatrics, osteopathy…), but also for families. Most use it to objectively track their baby’s treatment progress week by week and share consistent data during medical visits.
What is the Cranial Index (CI) and how is it calculated?
It is a ratio between the width and length of the head that helps identify certain cranial deformities (such as plagiocephaly). The craniometer helps record comparable measurements to assess changes over time.
Up to what age can this cranial measuring device be used?
Our plagiocephaly craniometer is designed for children up to 2 years old.
